Los Angeles Clippers host Golden State Warriors in a crunch game-4 of the first round playoff series match at Staples Center, in Downtown Los Angeles, on Friday morning (IST).
Golden State Warriors restored the word order as they destroyed Los Angeles Clippers in game-3, just two days after surrendering a 31-point lead at Oracle Arena.
This was needed, very much a need of the hour. Not entirely because of the fear of losing the first round series to Clippers, but for the reason that they need to be fresh for the impending and the mouthwatering Western Conference semifinal against Houston Rockets.
A 4-0 sweep wad forecasted, but now a 4-1 win would be a welcome return.
The 31-point surrender was a historic collapse. For no team has ever lost a game from that margin in the playoffs. The defeat raised too many questions about Warriors. The highlight was the injury to DeMarcus Cousins and how Steve Kerr would cope in the absence of his big men.
But all the lingering doubts were erased by an utterly dominant display at Staples Center.
Kevin Durant played just like the player who won the last two NBA finals MVP. He dropped a game-high 38 points.
Clippers now have a real fight on their hands to be alive in the series.
