The bottom-rooted New York Knicks will be looking to end a three-game losing skid when they host Los Angeles Clippers in a regular season NBA match at Madison Square Garden, in Midtown Manhattan, on Sunday night (IST).
New York Knicks met a familiar fate in the last match, losing for the umpteenth time in the 2018-19 regular season. This could be an exaggeration but Knicks have lost the most games this season, amongst all the teams in NBA.
So a 93-111 loss against Denver Nuggets, a 2nd placed team in the Western Conference who possess a 49-22 record, wasn’t even close to a shocking result by any means. It was a simple case of over-familiarity for Knicks and their fans.
This was Knicks’ 59th loss of the season, and ninth in the last 10 matches. They are propping up the table as things stand in the East. However, the silver line is that they are on course to win the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
Los Angeles Clippers, on the other hand, extended their winning streak to four games after beating Cleveland Cavaliers 110-108 in the last match.
It was a scare which Clippers managed to avoid as Eastern Conference’s 2nd worst team showed more mettle than they were expected. But Clippers managed to withstand the Cavs’ fourth-quarter charge and close down the win.
